Classroom - UE4

Project notes: I decided to use UE4 so I could try out some set dressing with Megascans assets, decals etc. I faced a catch 22 with UE4 where the lighting/shadows on the foliage instances (rubble etc) could not accept baked lighting (as far as my googling took me) but my graphics card was too old to render with ray tracing (or even GPU lightmass). Rather than placing the rubble by hand, it seemed more sensible to get high res screenshots for now, and if/when I upgrade my card, do ray-traced renders.
On 30 August 2021, the last US plane left Afghanistan after a 20 year occupation. This project came from my attempt to process the horrifying stories coming out of Afghanistan that I, along with the rest of the world had witnessed from a safe (privileged) and helpless distance.
